Services Overview
One on one coaching
Empathic Pain Neuroscience Education: Find out how the body and everything inside it interplays dynamically with the environment. Get an understanding of how ‘biological, psychological, social factors are dynamic and interdependant’ (Engel, 1977) and how socioecological framework can be appreciated in your unique story and experience with pain. Here, we bring these factors together in a “let’s put the pieces together in the big picture” kind of way.
Exercise: The Great Key to Release Natural Drugs: There are many keys, of which exercise and movement are arguably at the top of the list. Get experiential learning using your own body with exercise and movement practices that are meaningful and relevant, that uses the best available evidence, that instills self confidence and self efficacy with minimal available equipment but many useful tools.
Online consultation
Therapeutic pain education and management appointment, but online. We remove the threat (of pain), we educate on understanding pain and the drivers that ramp up or calm down the pain experience. We devise a plan together and do a therapeutic movement / exercise experience using video screening.
Movement Classes
1 hour: a cocktail of fun, exercise, play, conversation. No agenda except the one that says love life, love movement. A well curated battery of movement experiences for all and a sharp eye on those working through painful spots. This is a great step down from one on one rehabilitation. I have worked with individuals and groups for persistent chronic pain to post-ACL reconstruction rehabilitation and other surgical interventions. Safety and and fun is paramount while you get movement-smart and stronger in your body. It's not just the brain, not just the body, its the person and their environment, its the big picture.
